It has been a while has it not?

   abunch love this pic!

well after i did say in the last blog that i would up date more regularly and never did i felt very convicted after some people, or should i say a certain some body reminded me of the promise i made that i would update more regularly. ummmmmmmm that was a month ago.... or maybe even two if i really think about it.... even my inner child is disapointed in me abouit that

ja man Jaci! how could you do that?

well as they say you bond is only as good as your word so i better do it! due to the fact that my inner child scared so many people in the last entry he will not be featuring that much in this one. sorry man

thats alright Jakels

well were do i start? my time in Ireland was fantastic! AMAZING!!! such a wonderful place to be. i unfortunatly do not have all the pictures from then but when i do get them i will show you. it was seriously such a good and enjoyable time and this time round i got to go to the south of Ireland which was also really nice. but why did i go back?

yes the Morellies ice cream was a pull...

My days of traveling could unfortunatly not last forever and my mother land (yes and my real mother) was calling me home. so i caught my trusty chariot back home to find the land of constant sun shine and braai. it was strange to see the sun rise over Africa early the m orning just before we flew over Zimbabwe.

So the African man stepped of the plane at JHB international in his new pink shirt and slightly international accent which has become slightly rounded. it was very different to be back but home will always be home.

but what does the African man do at home in his natural habitat were he can be let lose to roam the serounds as he pleases taking in the sun?

home sweet home 008 natural habitat

first of all the tribe have to regroup as the middel child returns and connects with his siblings: rageing bull (Petrus) and banana boy (Capi). after the trie has taken him back the ancient practice can start...

but like all things to much can lead to bad things... so after i reached this stage i decided that it would be best to stop all that and start training agian. i have even started pilatis whith my mother - ummmm thats no joke by the way...

to much food

top of the list of priorities was definatly to go and see a good old game of rugby! i joined some friends and we went off to Elis Park to watch the Lions munch the Chetas and "roar" over them.

rugby

i even had a trip down to see my bro (Capi) in Natal and ventured into the land of the Zulus

zulu land

on one occation we stayed at the golf estate Zimbali with my aunt and uncle which was good fun. (thats me and my dad by the way)

and yes it is true... Jaci has found a job and it is SOOOOOOOOO exciting!.... ok it really isnt. i have landed myself a job as a furniture sales man! we sell exclusively African furniture and specialise in African game leathers. i sit in the shop most of the time and wait for customers... and wait ... and wait... and.... ok you get the idea. i sit and look at the chairs and day dream about Cairo.  i cant really complain that much because i do get paid and can work when i want

vandenburgs

then came the fun stuff! this last weekend a week ago i went to the mountains out side of JHB to go and do the StStidians confermation  camp. it was so good to do something stimulating again and just share with what i have learnt, to shed light on the situation...

how random is this phone booth in the mountains???

and i enjoyed this guys spelling! man after my own heart.

then i was off to Benoni on the other side of JHB to do a mission week at a high school. we took classes and just hung out with the kids and just showed them love, thats what so many people just need. unfortunatly i didnt take pictures (bit angry about that!)

cross st dunstans

but my time of snow boarding and cammel riding are on hold just for now and im back in the land of crazy taxis and other things. but i really want to do these things and others before to long.

thats sun might have set but i can asure you that tomorrow another will rise and i am really keen to make it the most exciting time ever!

i know that i have not bloged for so long but if you do happen to lad your eyes on this please please please leave a comment! i am honest when i say i really dont have that many friends because they are not here so be kind, have a heart and leave a comment...

Talking to yourself is the first step tp knowing who you are

Well anyone who followed this blog must have given up on it a while ago so im going to post this for myself. for my inner child.

Inner child: Jaci the last thing you posted was about the dessert trip.

Jaci: ja! i remember that! the good old days of my larens of Arabia dreams lived out in the nothingness out there. sand, heat, sweat... hmmmmmmmmm - good times. doing our thing with the beduwin tribes

Inner Child: you remember that time in Luxur. how hot was that!?! getting to about 52 degrees!

Jaci: well that was unbelievable. as interesting as it was it was a heavy place... and i just remember that constant nose bleed!

inner child: what did we do after that again?

Jaci: it was back to Cairo were we continued with our ministrys like the sudanees refugees, orphaniges, church survices and cave church. it was so "hot" in every sence of the word. it was a fantastic time that really opened my eyes (funny enough we also met Figian culture in Cairo!?) and which i will never forget. .... still now i really miss Cairo in all its confusion.

Inner child: and then it was back to Switserland: cows with bells, mountains, chocolate, hospitality... need i say more?

jaci: it was good to be back after the three months away.going out of Egypt and in to ultra clinical Swiss was a shock! the streets were ordered, people obayed the rules, there were birds singing and the air was clean! not to mention we could drink from the tap...

inner child: we both know what happened then...

Jaci: (sniff sniff) we met up with all the fantastic people who had been in our thoughts for the past 3 months and who we could now see after  so long; but alas only for a week... i have never cried as much as on the day i said good bye... my heart still bleeds - I LOVE ALL YOU GUYS!!!!

inner child: with the heart ake and al l the next few days were...

Jaci: fantastic

inner child: stupendas

Jaci: you know what i mean. i went traveling in Swiss (Lauterbrunnen and Gryon) for 5 days before i flew to England and staryed there for another 5 days. it was great! stayed with my AAAAAAmazing cousins and there unborn (ahm! i am proud to say that conner has arived into the world!). Londen was cool and i got lost alsot but i saw stuff i have always wanted to see before.

inner child: aaaaaaa, then we went to Bristol and saw the man hiself! the one the only...

Jaci: Greg Whyn. i love this man! we hung out in Bristol and even went to wales wer we other than watching a sad game found a wooden Ox. Greg your the man (ladys he is avalable)

inner child: and then it was of to the land of green

jaci: indeed! they say it is green and they were not joking! i met up there with Matt and Ryan at Annas home and had a fantastic 9 day visit there which was so refreshing. was really so good to be in a home after being around and about for a couple of months

inner child: hey but how much fun was the surfing, golf and the acents man

jaci: so flipen funny most of the time. well it did take us i think 4 hours to play the first 9 holes in golf and when we went the first time to surf there wasnt even a riple in the sea - we did get one day with monster 2-3 footers... seriously it was good fun and Peter the man was as patiant as ever playing golf with us. (taught him how to braai and rumer has it that he is pritty good.)

inner child: but then there was the real family hey

Jaci: seeing Capi and Pappa again for the first time since january 1st was so nice! it was really nice to be able to touch base with them again and to be able to spend some time with them again. we travled around in Swiss for a while and stayed at Gryon. even had time to say hi to Freddie Mercury (how ever you spell that)

inner child: and then?

jaci: back to the base in Lausanne. yeah! i took up the prominent position of maintanince (ummmm...). ja well it was soooooooo cool to be back. look i worked hard but it ws a ton of fun to be back and connect with my friends here and to make new ones. every one was here but the.... (dum dum dum daaaaaaa) every one left for Paris to do out reach there so there was aboutt 7 of us on the base. you would think that for two weeks you would get boared but we had a blast!!! and i descovered photo shop!

ok i know... sad life. this one was made by my teacher Rodney! mad props to you BOSS!!

Inner child: ok guys now its time for me to talk... i have been back here on the base for the past month or so and i have had the time of my life! i would stay here longer easly but i need to go home and attened to some things there. thank you so much to every one that has brightened up my life the past year! im back in sunny SA on the 20th of Augest but not before i go back to Ireland one last time before i head back.

Jaci: the next post will be soon and not in a month or so - i promise you!

A picture says a Thousand words

It is said that a piture says a thousand words, well lets see how that is. well if it is true then this post will have over 15 000 words... dont worry i wount wright that much!

first of here is a greeting for back home (how many words dose this say to you?

i have not been able to post to many pics and i have faced dificulty posting more but here is the update:

the Alex and Jaci adventures continued in Alexandria and Luxur (forgot hoe to spell that)

so as i have said we are here in Egypt and helping in a number of things such as at churchs and orphaniges. below you can see Bruce sharing a message, me at the cave church and then two groups of children. all of these things are so forfilling, i love it. look there is more but this is what i have oics of for now

then came one of the things we had been waiting for all along (drum roll)... the desert trip!

we went to spend time with the Bediwin people in their home inviroment out in the desert. for me it was really a dream come true. if you would have told me a year or so ago that i was going to be doing this i would have laughed and then said "yip, just imagine how cool that would be" - well i did it

(think this country road will take me home? - try see me in the pic after)

we also had a good stop at the crystalmountain and as you can see and by now should know we wount stand in the arch but rather ontop of it.

this is the tipical village scene. people have adapted to there enviroment so they sleep from lunch till 4 to miss the heat of the day. one day when we were walking in Luxor at 3 it was 50 degrees celcius and anither time when we were playing soccer at 11 in the night it was 34... yes it gets a little bit warm but you get used to it and drink tons of water

we also met these atractive tribes me and women...

if you didnt realise that was us

and here he is my trusty camel JP. definate highlight!

while we were in Luxor some of us did drop in at the valley of the kings and some other things in our free time.

now if i have to look at some of the things i did then i start to wonder how good my life really is. i ate food around a camp fire in the desert, slept under the sters ontop of a dune, experienced the culture first hand upfront and personal, met fantastic people, rode camels, all od the with the best friend i have ever made and all by the sweet geace of God.

Please tell me that my life is boaring!
